April 3, 2014

Lexington, KY–Four Star Sales Managing Partner, Kerry Cauthen announced today that “Deuce Greathouse has officially joined the team at Four Star Sales.  His duties will include client recruitment, with a focus on racing stock and broodmare prospects, as well as, farm inspections and client services during public auctions.  Deuce will continue to operate his existing weanling, yearling and mare pinhook partnerships and management of Pike Place Racing, while maintaining, his client relationships and business development role at Glencrest Farm.”

Deuce has been with Four Star on an informal basis since its inception, showing yearlings at the sales while attending Tulane University.  In subsequent years he worked with his father and extended family in overseeing  the yearling prep of all Glencrest Farm’s personal and client holdings and managing various pinhook partnerships that sold stock through Four Star Sales and in the Two-Year-Old market.

Cauthen continued, “Deuce has spent the last ten years gaining a very well-rounded education in the thoroughbred industry from both the selling and the buying end.  While selecting alone or in conjunction with partners,  his extensive experience in purchasing at public auction has produced  champion Uncle Mo, multiple G1 winner Devil May Care, G2 winner and $1.25-million broodmare Nefertini, G3 winner Tepin, G1-placed Big Blue Nation, undefeated Schivarelli, and 3YO Street Strategy, etc.  His deep family history and growing skill set will definitely be a strong addition in the continued growth of Four Star Sales. It is a very natural fit for us all.”  Deuce commented on the role, “I am extremely excited for the opportunity and look forward to being involved in the growth of Four Star Sales and Glencrest Farm.  Both entities work hand in hand, and I hope and believe that I will be able to generate new areas of business for both groups in the years to come.”
